Company-Provided Benefits
Host Hotels & Resorts pays the full cost for certain benefits including:
- Life/AD&D Insurance: The company provides Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage equal to your annual salary.
- Short-Term Disability coverage replaces up to 60 percent of your salary for twelve weeks.
- Long-Term Disability coverage replaces up to 60 percent of your salary if you remain disabled after your STD benefits end.
- Business Travel Accident Insurance: The benefit equals $250,000 if you earn $30,000 or more.
- Paid Time Off may be used for sickness, vacation, unpaid holidays or other personal reasons. Twenty days per year for up to five years of service.
- Nine paid holidays per year.
- Free on-site fitness center.
- Employee Assistance program: Host offers an AAP to provide you and your immediate family members help with issues concerning health, work, finances or other personal concerns.
- Company paid parking
- Health Advocate: Assistance solving complicated medical & claims issues.
Employer/Associate Shared-Cost Benefits (Optional)
- Medical, Prescription, Vision & Hearing coverage: Choose from two PPOs.
- Dental coverage: The Dental PPO offers the option to receive care through a carefully selected network of providers or through out-of network providers.
- Health Care Spending Account: Deposit $200 - $4,000 per year before taxes to pay for eligible health expenses (such as deductibles and co-payments) not covered by another plan.
- Dependent Care Spending Account: Deposit up to $5,000 per year before taxes to pay expenses incurred to care for your dependents while you work.
- Optional Life Insurance: Elect optional coverage equal to 1, 2, 3 or 4 times your salary. Coverage is also available for your spouse and/or children.
- Short-Term Disability coverage replaces up to 60 percent of your salary for twelve weeks of disability. Associates may elect to pay for this coverage themselves and avoid taxation on any benefits they may receive under the plan.
- Long-Term Disability coverage replaces up to 60 percent of your salary if you remain disabled after your STD benefits end. Associates may elect to pay for this coverage themselves and avoid taxation on any benefits they may receive under the plan.
- Supplemental Disability coverage of up to 75 percent is available for purchase.
- Long Term Care coverage is available for purchase in various increments with guaranteed issue. Eligible family members may also purchase coverage. This insurance provides coverage for nursing home, assisted living and/or home care options for individuals who have lost two or more functions of daily living.
- Fare Share Program participation is also available for associates who use public transportation to commute to work. The company provides $70 per month in fare media and the associate can purchase up to an additional $85 per month on a pre-tax basis.
Additional options for eligible associates
- Hotel Room Discounts: Associates and their immediate family members are eligible for discounted room rates at participating Marriott lodging properties.
- Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement percentage based on course grade. Career development plans must be in place with HR prior to beginning. Undergrad annual limit is $10k and grad is $15k.
- 401(k) Plan: New associates are automatically enrolled at a 3 percent contribution rate. May contribute up to 20 percent. Employer matches $.50 of each $1 up to 6 percent. Additional discretionary match determined annually by the Board of Directors.
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan: Associates may purchase stock through payroll deduction at a 10 percent discount.
- Business casual attire on a daily basis.
- Matching Gifts: Host matches associates' charitable contributions of $50-500 per year.
