Host Employees Help Low-Income Youth This Holiday Season

12/16/2021

This year for the holidays, Host’s service team partnered with Latin American Youth Center (LAYC), a local organization serving a diverse community of low-income youth and families through youth centers, school-based sites and public charter schools in Washington, D.C. metro area. By providing multi-cultural, comprehensive and innovative programs that address youths’ social, academic and career needs, LAYC’s goal is for every young person who walks through their doors to develop the skills and self-confidence to make a successful transition to adulthood. Volunteers packed 100 holiday meal bags containing non-perishable food items; assembled toiletry kits for 100 LAYC families; and purchased children’s coats, hats and gloves and other winter clothing off LAYC’s wish list.

In addition to employee donations, Host made a donation to LAYC, which will be used to purchase 100 frozen turkeys to go along with the meal bags as well as additional winter coats for local children.
