In August, Host’s service team organized a baby supply drive and hands-on volunteer event with Greater DC Diaper Bank (GDCDB). GDCDB works to make a difference in the lives of babies and families by providing diapers, baby essentials, hygiene products and other critical supplies to families across the region.

In-Office Baby Supply Drive

Together, we collected 21 boxes of diapers, 6 boxes of wipes, 34 baby bottles, 14 pacifiers, 13 tubes of diaper rash cream, as well as a wide range of essentials purchased directly from GDCDB’s wish list and a contribution on behalf of Host’s service team.

Off-Site Volunteer Event

A group of employee volunteers visited GDCDB’s warehouse in Silver Spring, where thousands of baby essentials are packed and prepped each month for local families in need. Volunteers helped sort, pack, stack and bundle diapers for distribution to local families through their Baby Pantry program.

Together, we packed 746 diaper bundles and bundled a total of 18,650 individual diapers, which supports 373 babies with a full month’s supply of diapers.

In addition to a day of service, volunteers received a tour of the warehouse and learned more about GDCDB’s critical work in the community. It was a fun, high-energy day filled with purpose, teamwork, a little friendly competition and a lot of diaper-stacking.
