Partnered with Comfort Cases to pack backpacks filled with comfort and personal care items for a child’s first few days in the foster care system and made fleece blankets.
Organized a professional clothing drive for A Wider Circle’s Professional Development Center. Toured the organization’s facility in Silver Spring, MD to see first-hand the impact of our clothing donations and furniture donations from local hotel renovation projects.
Organized by our women’s employee resource group, we hosted a discussion with Jim Risoleo, president and chief executive officer of Host Hotels & Resorts, and Cia Buckley Marakovits, president and chief investment officer of Dune Real Estate, who shared personal stories and insights about her career journey in a more male-dominated field, valuable business experiences and more.
We hosted our first-ever Lunar New Year celebration, featuring personal reflections by Host employees, a special lion dance performance and a happy hour with traditional “lucky” Chinese foods.
We celebrated Pride Month by hosting a special all-employee event featuring keynote speaker Ashley T Brundage, President & CEO of Empowering Differences. In addition to recognizing the LGBTQ+ community, we learned about steps and actions we all can take to inspire others, create opportunities for equal access, and be better leaders and allies.
